Creating an Accessible Future at Sudima Hotels

Published: 23 July 2024

“You have to leave the world in a better position than you found it.”

– Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala, CEO, Hind Management and Sudima Hotels

At Sudima Hotels, this powerful principle guides everything we do. Our commitment to diversity, equality, inclusion, and well-being is at the heart of our culture. We believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace brings out the best in our people, enabling us to provide superior products and services to the communities we serve.

Accessibility is a fundamental issue, with approximately 1 in 4 New Zealanders facing physical, sensory, learning, mental health, or other impairments. At Sudima Hotels, we are proud to be pioneers in accessibility, being the first hotel company in New Zealand to introduce the Hidden Disability Scheme. This initiative is just one of the ways we are making our spaces more inclusive.

We actively seek feedback from people with lived experiences of disabilities, using their insights to conduct regular audits and improvements. Our goal is to ensure our spaces are welcoming and accessible to all. By partnering with the New Zealand Disability Employers Network, we advocate for accessibility industry-wide, working together to create an inclusive New Zealand.
