NZ Tourism Awards Finalists

Sudima Hotels & Resorts is proud to announce that we are finalists in two categories for the NZ Tourism Awards, as well as sponsors for the Tourism 2025 Enabler Award. The awards are New Zealand’s most prestigious tourism awards are the winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner in Christchurch on Thursday, 7th of September, 2017. Les Morgan, our Director of Hotels, is a finalist for the Tourism Industry Champion Award which is for an individual who has dedicated at least 10 years to the industry. Les has demonstrated his passion and commitment to the tourism industry by fulfilling the eight criteria necessary to qualify as a finalist for the Tourism Industry Champion. He is a leader in the industry who has been working towards progressing, not only Sudima Hotels & Resorts but the industry as a whole, while developing the people involved in it.

Sudima Hotels & Resorts is a finalist for the Environmental Tourism Award. We have demonstrated our commitment to sustainability through our leadership, operational excellence and results achieved. We have environmental considerations in all our properties. Additionally, our Auckland Airport property is a member of the CarboNZero network which means we neutralise our carbon footprint. We are the only hotel group to achieve a Be. Accessible certification for all our properties. Other initiatives include: Ngati Whakaue Scholarship and breakfast donations for Kawaha Point School.

The Tourism 2025 Enable Award we are sponsoring will recognise an organisation enabling the tourism industry achieve the 2025 $41 billion goal. Their initiatives could include removing obstacles for growth, improving visitor experiences and providing insight into the industry.
