Maori Cultural Show & Hangi

Rotorua is a hub for Maori culture. Being part of the local community, Sudima Lake Rotorua hosts a nightly Maori cultural performance so you can experience the unique music, craft and culture of Aotearoa. You can also try a 'hangi’, a smoky flavoured meal cooked in an underground pit – a traditional New Zealand Maori way of cooking.

Te Roopa Manaia, an award-winning Maori cultural group, put on a nightly concert and hangi feast for our guests. You'll even have the opportunity to perform Maori dances and songs with the group if you choose!

Watch in awe as two warriors perform a formal Powhiri (welcome), be thrilled by the Haka, see the skillful Poi dancers, enjoy traditional and contemporary Maori songs and hear the rich tapestry of Maori legends.

The traditional Maori entertainment is complimented by a traditional hangi feast, all cooked underground using geothermal steam. There is also a mouth-watering buffet selection of Eastern and Western cuisine as well as divine desserts, including the very Kiwi pavlova.

Every night from 6.30pm (subject to availability and minimum numbers) $69.00 per adult $34.50 per child (12 years and under) FREE for children under 5 years old

The concert and hangi has limited capacity so make your bookings today. You can add this to an existing reservation or talk to one of our helpful staff.
