Haydon suggests that viewers “imagine a ribbon thrown in the air, the way it loops and curves, that’s the effect I’m trying to achieve”. As part of his ‘Achromatic’ series Haydon focused on developments in black acrylic finishes to carbon fiber relief sculptures to create these light, curvaceous sculptural forms. The surface is embedded with tiny filaments of glass creating a variance and activation of the work in changing light situations.
